Board approves county insurance package, hears server-replacement plan and approves claims list

Butler County supervisors approved the Jones Group Insurance bid for FY2026-27 during their June 15 meeting, accepting recommended plans including Medica health offerings and KC Life dental and vision coverage. The Board authorized open enrollment to begin within days and set coverage effective July 1.
Representatives from Applied Connective (Matt Childress and Clay Anderson) informed the Board that the county’s server is nearing end of life and recommended replacement (estimated hardware and labor cost $33,130.79). Applied Connective advised the county that quotes are time-limited and recommended issuing a request for proposals; they also explained that the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) may reimburse certain invoices dating back to February.
On claims, the Board approved the monthly claims as presented except for a Central Square claim of $1,980; the Board later voted to deny Central Square’s claim on the basis that services had not been completed. The claims list presented detailed vendor charges and a Grand Total Claims amount of $850,122.88 across funds.
