Beacon Falls EDC to press businesses on Main Street ordinances, plans Sip and Stroll event

At its June 22, 2026 meeting, the Town of Beacon Falls Economic Development Commission reviewed Main Street issues and community events and discussed preliminary plans for the Haynes Development.
On Main Street, commissioners discussed signage and enforcement of local ordinances for businesses. Chair Jack Betkoski said he will draft a letter to local businesses to clarify ordinances and confirm compliance. Emily Fitzgerald, who is involved in event coordination, presented a flyer for a Sip and Stroll event scheduled for Sept. 12 and said the commission is seeking participating businesses, vendor space and parking solutions; once businesses are finalized the commission will produce a map and a passport for attendees to collect stamps from participating businesses.
The commission confirmed an order of 40 plaques to support Main Street branding and recognition. Commissioners also held a preliminary discussion about the Haynes Development — comparing potential layout and design to Quarry Walk, and raising questions about landscaping, upkeep and accessible parking as well as suggestions for unique and sustainable business uses at the site.
