River Ridge CDD accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman, will solicit applicants for Seat 1

The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman from Seat 1 (term through November 2026) during its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and the board, on a motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal and seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly, voted to accept the resignation. Board members discussed the appointment process: because this will be an appointment rather than an election, staff and Mr. Long will e-blast The Meadows community about the vacancy, outline candidate qualification requirements and invite residents to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting.
The board noted materials that will be provided to any appointee, including required ethics training, instructions for filing Form 1 and a guide to the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees. The administration of the oath of office and related onboarding materials were deferred to a future meeting.
What happens next: staff will solicit candidates and include submissions in the next meeting packet for board consideration and possible appointment.
