Split vote: River Ridge board approves temporary power solution for lake aerator
Summary

The River Ridge Community Development District voted 3–2 on Nov. 19 to install a temporary power "zombie box" for an aeration system in Lake E1‑C while deferring a costly relocation.
Operations Manager Shane Willis presented Premier Lakes’ one-time work order and a revised Bentley Electric proposal that would add 125 feet of electrical work to relocate the aerator farther from the originally proposed location. Board members discussed budget implications and an alternative of installing a temporary power box at the current site.
On motion by Chair Bob Schultz, seconded by Mr. Twombly, the board approved installing a zombie box at a cost of $3,098 and agreed to revisit the relocation proposal during FY2026 budget discussions. The motion passed with Schultz, Twombly and Merrill voting in favor and Mountford and Blumenthal dissenting.
The board did not adopt the Bentley Electric relocation estimate at this meeting; staff will include relocation costs for further review in next year’s budget discussions.
