Ward 5 residents report repeated missed Rumpke pickups; committee advises escalation path

Residents in Ward 5 have reported repeated missed curbside trash pickups in a cul-de-sac near Silver Tree, Councilmember Heidi Webber told the Streets Committee on June 3.
"Almost every month it is being forgotten," Webber said, describing frequent missed service calls affecting multiple households. She said residents have contacted the city and that the problem tends to recur in the same area.
Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz and Service Director Nick Cinquepalmi recommended a two-step reporting process: residents should contact Rumpke, the contractor, first; if the problem persists, call the Service Department so staff can escalate the complaint during regular meetings with Rumpke. The Mayor added that the Service Department meets regularly with the contractor and can follow up if a pattern continues.
The committee did not take formal action at the June 3 meeting but asked staff to monitor reports and escalate repeat problems through existing contractor meetings.
