Lyon County fiscal court adopts Vision Zero traffic-safety resolution

Lyon County Fiscal Court voted to adopt Resolution 2026-10, a Vision Zero traffic-safety initiative, at a special called meeting on June 29, 2026.

A court staff member summarized the measure as "a traffic safety initiative that aims to reduce traffic deaths to 0 and provides a systems-based approach that focuses on built environments and policies that influence behavior," and said the Pennyroyal Area Development District (PAD) has performed surveys and the county has received some reimbursements through the related grant. The chair asked for a motion to accept the resolution as printed; the motion was moved by Sutton and seconded by Fallon. The chair called for the ayes and noes; an "Aye" was recorded and the chair announced "Motion carries." The transcript does not include a roll-call tally of individual votes.
