Davis County approves sheriff's office contracts including $418,513.58 Taser purchase over five years

The items included a Lexipol annual subscription (Left is Shield Suite base subscription) for $7,980 beginning July 1, 2026, and running through Dec. 31, 2026; an amendment to a design professional services contract (contract 2025-680) to extend the completion date to Oct. 1, 2026, with no additional financial cost; an interlocal cooperative agreement receivable with South Weber City for law enforcement services totaling $359,661 for July 1, 2026'June 30, 2027; and approval to purchase Taser electronic control devices under Utah state contract PA 4605 for $418,513.58 over a five-year period (Oct. 1, 2026'Sept. 30, 2031), Chief Butcher said.
A commissioner moved and a second was voiced to approve items 7, 8, 9 and 10; the board approved them by voice vote.
The contract amendment carries no new financial obligation, the South Weber receivable will provide budgeted revenue to the sheriff's office, and the Taser purchase is scheduled under the state contract terms and timeline presented by staff.
