Summary
Committee members voted unanimously on June 3 to send Ordinance 25-96 to council, giving staff authority to buy a one-ton F450 dump truck up to a $110,550 maximum; staff said they will seek the least expensive local truck that meets specifications and that availability of the model is not guaranteed.

The North Royalton Storm Water Committee voted June 3 to forward Ordinance 25-96 to city council, authorizing staff to purchase an F450 one-ton dump truck with a maximum authorized price of $110,550.
Wastewater Superintendent Ed Haller told the committee the city worked through a cost-share program and established a maximum price through the state program; the $110,550 figure is a cap, he said, and staff will attempt to spend less by locating the lowest-cost vehicle locally that meets the required specifications. Haller said availability of the specific truck model can vary and ‘‘at whatever point they end up getting the permission to move forward with authorizations then they will look and see where they can find the least expensive truck that meets their needs from a local location.’’
Council member Paul Marnecheck asked whether the ordinance itself would provide the necessary purchasing authorization or if additional legislation would be required. Haller said his understanding is that the ordinance should provide the necessary authority but noted this is his first time working through this process for North Royalton.
Chair Heidi Webber moved to send Ordinance 25-96 to council for approval; Committee member Michael Wos seconded. The motion carried unanimously (Yeas: Heidi Webber, John Nickell, Michael Wos; Nays: 0).
The committee also approved the May 7, 2025 minutes earlier in the meeting. The ordinance will appear on a future council agenda for final consideration.
