The Town of Murray Board on Aug. 19 resolved to declare its intent to serve as lead agency for a coordinated SEQR (State Environmental Quality Review) evaluation of the proposed Water District No. 17 project. The board reviewed the Full Environmental Assessment Form (EAF) Part 1 prepared by MRB Group and classified the action as Type I under SEQR, directing the Town Engineer to notify involved and interested agencies.
Supervisor Gerald Rightmyer updated the board on the water-line project, saying MRB Group engineer Scott Mattison had spoken with USDA and was told the grant "looks good." Rightmyer reported that "water samples have been completed and the samples from all six homes came back bad," and said hydrants could be included in the project if the town remains under the bond repayment limit.
The board’s resolution (RESOLUTION NO. 2024-027) directs the Town Engineer to provide written notice to involved agencies and seek agreement or objection within 30 days to coordinate SEQR review. No agency responses are recorded in the Aug. 19 minutes.
The board did not take a final construction or funding vote at the meeting; the minutes indicate continued engineering work and data collection. The Town Engineer and MRB Group are the point of contact for SEQR notices and follow-up.
