Rio Vista resident says county 'Top 10 rides' brochure will highlight three local routes

Dennis Slade, Rio Vista's representative to the Solano County Transit Authority Bicycle Advisory Committee, told the council the next county brochure will include three Rio Vista‑centric routes — Montezuma Hills, Burris Island and a short promenade/Sandy Beach family ride — and will be distributed to bike shops and digital platforms in spring.
Dennis Slade told the Rio Vista City Council that, as the city’s representative to the Solano County Transit Authority Bicycle Advisory Committee, he helped develop a new 'Top 10 rides' brochure that will feature three routes centered on Rio Vista. He said the Montezuma Hills route begins and ends in Rio Vista (about 13–17 miles), Burris Island/Birds Island is another longer ride, and a short promenade–Sandy Beach loop serves families.
Slade said the brochure (version 2) will be distributed to local and regional bike shops, clubs and digital platforms such as Strava and Komoot in the spring, and he asked council members to note the tourism benefit of listing Rio Vista routes. "This will be coming out the spring of this year... Rio Vista is rep is is 3 of them are Rio Vista centric," Slade said.
Mayor Okamura and staff thanked Slade for his service on the Bicycle Advisory Committee and noted the city’s interest in attracting bicycle tourism.
