Byron council approves appointments, surplus of fire trailer, property conveyance and inspection agreement

The Byron City Council on Sept. 8, 2025, approved several routine and administrative items by unanimous vote, including reappointments to the Planning & Zoning Board, surplus of a fire-department trailer, consideration of a property conveyance, and authorization of an inspection and maintenance agreement.
Council reappointed David Sams and Jeff Owens to the Planning & Zoning Board; their terms were recorded as expiring Sept. 13, 2027. The motion to reappoint was made by Council Member James Richardson and seconded by Council Member Chris Hodges.
The council approved a Fire Department request to surplus a trailer equipped with an air compressor. The motion to surplus the trailer was made by Council Member Rusty Adams and seconded by Council Member Chris Hodges; the minutes record the vote as unanimous.
The council moved to consider acceptance of parcel 052 044 conveyed from 3B’s, LLC to the City of Byron; the motion was made by Council Member Chris Hodges and seconded by Council Member Michael Chumbley and recorded as unanimous. Separately, a resolution regarding the acceptance of certain streets was tabled until October, per the minutes.
Council also authorized the mayor to approve an Inspection & Maintenance Agreement with FRHP Lincolnshire, LLP concerning property at Tax Map 054B 008; the motion was moved by Council Member Chris Hodges and seconded by Council Member Michael Chumbley and recorded as unanimous.
