Engineer Jason Baze told the board that the Mills Pond work will address concrete elements of the diversion wall and outstanding comments from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and he recommended executing the contract and scheduling a preconstruction meeting. General Manager Shirley Ross said staff would notify nearby residents because the project is "high profile." Director Palmer made the motion to ratify the contract, and Director Ward seconded; the board voted unanimously to approve the award.
Mr. Baze also presented Pay Application No. 1 from Bauerle Partners, Inc. (BPI) for the shoreline biofiltration retrofit; the board approved the payment after a motion by Director Palmer and second by Director Ward. For the Mills Pond design, the Mills Pond Dam Ad Hoc Committee recommended additional geotechnical investigations; the board approved Balcones Geotechnical LLC's proposal for $8,500 on a unanimous vote.
