Mashpee commission approves grinder‑pump takings, reappoints chair and vice chair

At its June 18 meeting the Mashpee Sewer Commission approved an order of taking, under G.L. c.83 §1, to acquire grinder pump easements on privately owned parcels and in private and public ways necessary for portions of the Mashpee‑wide sewer project. The motion included a determination that no damages are due; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously by roll call. Town counsel will circulate originals for signature and staff will record the takings on the recorded plans (referenced as book 716, pages 73–88).
The commission then completed its annual reorganization. Meredith Harris was nominated and re‑elected chair by unanimous vote and "Al" was nominated and accepted as vice chair. The clerk position was left vacant pending a full board; commissioners said they will nominate when the board is at full membership.
These actions followed project updates from GHD and staff about construction progress and schedule milestones for multiple contracts in phase two and phase three of the town sewer project.
