The Batavia USD 101 board on May 19 approved two administrative appointments: Joshua (Josh) Lewis as principal of Routollo Middle School and Lzette Jacobson as the district’s director of curriculum and multilingual learning.
Steve introduced Lewis as a unanimous top choice of the Routollo hiring team; administration recommended a three‑year contract beginning July 1, 2026. The board approved the hire by roll call; two members abstained from the vote and one board member disclosed a spouse employed at the middle school when casting their vote.
Brad described Lzette Jacobson as the leading candidate among nearly 50 applicants for the director role; she joins the district after prior experience as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and director of multilingual learning. The board approved her three‑year contract, also effective July 1, 2026.
Lewis made brief remarks expressing gratitude and a commitment to continuing district traditions at Routollo. Jacobson thanked the board and said she looks forward to joining the district and supporting multilingual learners.
The hires are part of routine administrative staffing for the 2026–27 school year.
