Pinery Homeowners' Association approves new trash contract, playground repairs and Chipper Days vendor

The Pinery Homeowners' Association board on Sept. 24, 2025 in Parker, Colorado approved a multi-year trash service contract, ratified a playground-decking repair, and awarded the annual Chipper Days contract while noting an unrelated county mediation that will proceed to trial.
Vice President James Glavin moved and Director Marci Horn seconded a motion to accept the RFP from Apex Waste for trash service; the motion was approved unanimously by those present. The motion text recorded in the minutes states the service would begin April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2030; meeting materials header lists the item as 2026–2031 (the minutes are internally inconsistent on the contract term). Edwards moved and Director Marci Horn seconded a motion to ratify an Aug. 12 email vote to replace playground decking at Lakeshore Park at a total cost of $13,672.08; the board ratified the email vote unanimously.
The board also approved a contract with Matt's Maintenance for the annual Chipper Days event. Vice President Glavin moved and Secretary Mark Griffin seconded the motion; the board approved the contract unanimously. The minutes state the contract amount will not exceed $20,000 and that the Association received $7,500 in funding from the Douglas County Wildfire Mitigation Cost-Share Program to help offset the expense for 2025.
Recording Secretary Stephanie Wyche informed the board that mediation at the Douglas County Courthouse on Sept. 29, 2025, did not yield an agreement and that the dispute will proceed to trial; trial dates had not been set and Wyche will notify the board when they are scheduled.
The board reviewed the Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet and raised no questions. Director Marci Horn said the Architectural Review Committee had only routine submittals, and no unfinished business was reported. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. and adjourned at 8:22 p.m.
