Denton board extends Keno contract, adopts surplus resolution and approves camera upgrade and claims

At its Feb. 2 meeting the Village of Denton Board of Trustees approved several administrative and budget items.
Trustee Amanda Fangmeier moved and Trustee Ryan Osborn seconded a one‑year extension of the Keno contract from Feb. 1, 2026, to Jan. 31, 2026 and authorized Chair Joe Hobelman to sign; the motion carried. The clerk had earlier reported Keno December 2025 gross proceeds of $445,240.49 with the village share noted as $29,052.92.
No bids were received for 11 large round brome hay bales; Trustee Ryan Osborn moved and Trustee Trent Wheatley seconded adoption of Resolution 2-1-26 to offer the bales for sealed bid at the March 2 meeting and to publish notice; the motion carried.
Trustee Fangmeier moved and Trustee Ryan Osborn seconded acceptance of a bid from NCS IT Support to replace four cameras and purchase software for $905.26; the motion carried. Trustees also approved sending Maintenance Ross Blackledge to the Nebraska Rural Water Annual Conference March 9–11, 2026. Fangmeier moved and Osborn seconded to set a $6,000 budget for a July 4, 2026 fireworks show and to request Midwest Firework to perform the show on July 3 or 4; the motion carried.
Finally, the board approved Claims List A for $24,526.09, Claims List B for $5,325.03 and February net payroll $10,832.21.
The meeting adjourned after these items; the clerk certified the minutes.
