Denton adopts consistent snow‑removal policy and reviews speed study

After public comments about a worsening dip on Cass Avenue and a dead tree at Cass and W. Denton, the Village of Denton trustees clarified snow‑removal and street‑safety practices at their Feb. 2 meeting.
Business owner Scott Zeilinger asked for permission to remove snow in front of his business if village crews are unable to do so and requested advance notice of village non‑service. Resident Mike Sammus reported the alley between Lancaster Avenue and Cass Avenue had not been receiving snow removal. Chair Joe Hobelman said the village will clear sidewalks, the village parking lot and the downtown business district going forward and will maintain a consistent plowing policy.
Trustees also reviewed an All Traffic Solutions speed study for W. Denton Road. Discussion included possible installation of wide rumble strips or an additional flashing speed sign; the study is available at the village office for public review.
