Denton trustees table proposed water and sewer rate increases until March

The Village of Denton Board of Trustees on Feb. 2 voted to table discussion of proposed water and sewer rate increases until its March 2 meeting. Trustee Amanda Fangmeier moved to table Ordinances 26-1-1 (water) and 26-1-2 (sewer); Trustee Trent Wheatley seconded and the motion carried.
The items were presented as part of business item 3.a; no new rate figures were adopted at the meeting. The board recorded the motion to postpone further action to allow additional review before any ordinance vote.
Because no ordinance was adopted or amended during the session, the board did not set effective dates or changes to customer billing at this meeting. The board may take up the ordinances for first reading, amendment or adoption at its March 2 meeting.
