The Village of Denton Board of Trustees appointed Hunter Moural (Olsson, License S-1838) as street superintendent for the remainder of 2026 and discussed multiple pavement and striping bids at their May 4 meeting.
Trustee Ryan Osborn moved to appoint Moural and Trustee Trent Wheatley seconded; the motion carried. The clerk was asked to consult the street engineer about imposing a load limit on village streets.
Public-works staff reported a contractor’s blue paint failed to adhere in some areas; staff said that worn existing striping likely prevented proper adhesion. The board reviewed a bid from APMS to remove and replace decayed pavement (milling and replacement) for $8,415. Additional estimates listed in the minutes were $14,246 to restripe the roadway as currently configured and $1,877 to stripe parking lots at the community center and post office. Trustees scheduled further discussion and decision-making for a special meeting on May 21.
