The Corwin Village Council formalized several routine actions during its Sept. 23 meeting, adopting a budget resolution, approving a multi-year waste-and-recycling contract addendum, and authorizing a handful of small expenditures and reimbursements.
Resolution 2024-6: Councilman Lacy moved to accept the amounts of the County Budget Commission; Councilman Baldwin seconded. A roll-call vote carried the motion (3 Aye / 0 Nay / 1 Absent). Clerk-Treasurer Debra R. Femmer said she would hand-deliver the approved resolution to the Warren County Auditor before Oct. 1, 2024.
Rumpke of Ohio contract addendum: Femmer presented a two-year addendum from Rumpke for solid waste and recycling that would run as a 13-month contract beginning Oct. 1, 2024 through Oct. 31, 2025 and a 12-month contract Nov. 1, 2025 through Oct. 31, 2026 to better align Rumpke invoices with Warren County Water revenue. "This contract change will allow Rumpke invoices and Warren County Water revenue to the Village to be more aligned," Femmer said. Council moved to accept the addendum; a roll-call vote carried the motion (3 Aye / 0 Nay / 1 Absent).
Other votes: Councilman Baldwin moved to approve Aug. 12 and Aug. 29 meeting minutes; Councilman Lacy seconded and a voice vote carried the motion (3 Aye / 0 Nay / 1 Absent.); Councilman Lacy moved to reimburse Femmer $100 for Auditor of State fiscal officer training; Councilman Baldwin seconded and a voice vote carried the motion (3 Aye / 0 Nay / 1 Absent); and the council approved payment of the bills by roll call (3 Aye / 0 Nay / 1 Absent). Council also approved payment of Mayor Cordery's one-year Mayors' of Ohio membership ($50) on a 3–0 voice vote (1 absent).
The meeting adjourned after the votes. Several items were placed on the agenda for future meetings, including a second reading of the property-maintenance ordinance on Oct. 14 and submission of the snow-and-ice contract at the Oct. 14 meeting.
