Williston Select Board continues hearing on GlobalFoundries parcel to Dec. 1

The Williston Select Board on a continued session agreed to push back further proceedings on a disputed parcel at 326 IBM Road to Dec. 1 at 6 p.m., Vice Chair Carter Carter Smith said.

Mikael Harton, assistant assessor for the town of Williston, told the board that staff and solicitors would not present evidence that night and asked for “2 additional weeks, just to kind of finalize a few last talks with Global.” Ashley Castle, director of government and community affairs at GlobalFoundries, said the company was aligned with that timeline and confirmed, “we should meet again in 2 weeks, and I believe that's December 1.”

Smith reopened the hearing (continued from Sept. 19, 2025), read the parcel identifier given on the record as O401ODotO27000 and noted the property’s address at 326 IBM Road and its owner as GlobalFoundries US 2 LLC. He said the board would forego formal oaths and testimony because no evidence was being presented that evening.

With both parties indicating agreement, the board continued the hearing to Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. The meeting was then adjourned; no formal roll-call vote on the continuance was recorded in the transcript.
