Commissioners proclaim April National Reentry Awareness Month; participant credits program with recovery

Lancaster County Commissioners on April 7 proclaimed April 2026 as National Reentry Awareness Month and heard brief testimony from a program participant about the impact of Community Corrections services.
Jeff Kilpatrick, Community Corrections Director, introduced participant Derek Gentry, who described his progress in recovery and credited the program for helping him achieve sobriety and housing stability. "I credit the program for helping me achieve sobriety and stability," Gentry said. Commissioners thanked Gentry and commended the Community Corrections team for their work.
The proclamation was adopted unanimously.
