The exemptions approved at the meeting covered the following organizations as read into the record by staff: Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church; First Baptist Church; YMCA of Lincoln; Connecting Pointe Church of the Nazarene; The Catholic Bishop of Lincoln; Lincoln Medical Education Partnership; St. Mark’s United Methodist; Camp Sonshine; Cornhusker Council; St. Monica’s Home; and the Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties.
The motor-vehicle exemption approvals came alongside routine Board business. Earlier in the brief session, the Board approved the minutes of its March 17, 2026 meeting (motion by Commissioner Rick Vest; second by Commissioner Sean Flowerday) and approved additions and deductions to the tax assessment rolls (motion by Commissioner Sean Flowerday; second by Commissioner Chelsea Johnson); both motions passed 5-0.
Chair Yoakum closed the public comment portion of the agenda after noting that no members of the public had signed up to speak. The Board then adjourned at 9:36 a.m. following a motion by Commissioner Rick Vest and a second by Commissioner Chelsea Johnson, which carried 5-0.
No substantive testimony, contested claims, or requests for further staff study were recorded during the hearing. The meeting record indicates the Open Meetings Act was acknowledged at the start of the session.
