Lancaster County commissioners approve multiple contracts, purchases and personnel actions

The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners on April 7 approved a package of contract renewals, procurement awards and personnel actions intended to support county operations and road projects.
County Engineering requested and the board approved a preliminary engineering services supplement to County Contract C-23-0981 with Alfred Benesch and Company for the South 68th Street project, and a related professional services supplement not to exceed $12,465.19. "The agreement provides additional services for the South 68th Street project," said Kris Mayer, County Engineering Road Superintendent. The motions passed unanimously (5-0).
The board also authorized multiple memoranda of understanding and contract amendments to maintain equipment and repair services, including a Woodhouse Ford MOU for parts and service (term through Nov. 14, 2026), repair-service MOUs with Rose Equipment Inc and Nebraska Machinery Company, and a contract renewal for countywide CIPP culvert liners with Subsurface Inc. Mayer told commissioners the materials and MOUs will support culvert projects and equipment inventory.
On procurement, Purchasing recommended a purchase order to Ace Eaton Metals for county culvert pipe in the amount of $89,566.86 (Bid 26-076). "The materials would be used for culvert projects and inventory," Mayer said. That award carried 5-0.
On personnel and services, the board set Roberto Robles’ annual salary as Risk Management Director at $117,000, effective April 13, 2026; the motion passed unanimously. The board approved an agreement with Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska Inc. to provide a Peer Support Specialist to Community Corrections at no cost to the county and approved a microfilm and scanning services contract with The Community Supports Network Inc for up to $39,000.
The board also approved routine claims, including recent payroll adjustments and individual vendor claims, and approved a number of consent-item contract renewals across county departments, among them tractor rentals with Titan Machinery Inc., soil stabilization supply with Substrata, mailing services with All Needs Computer & Mailing Services Inc., and debt/lease management services with Fifth Asset Inc. Where recorded, roll-call votes and abstentions were recorded in the meeting minutes.
Several approvals were handled as consent items and passed as a package, while others were pulled for separate motions and recorded votes. The board adjourned at 9:33 a.m.
