Morgan County Commission authorizes multiple letters of support, reappoints local board members

The Morgan County Commission on July 1 authorized letters of support for several local grant applications and reappointed a number of local board members.
Richard Dennis of the governor's office informed the commission about a July 4th flag‑raising event, and the commission moved later to authorize a letter of support for Lifeboat Recovery’s application to the West Virginia First Foundation for a Crisis Intervention Diversion Initiative. The commission also approved letters supporting the Morgan County Partnership's West Virginia First Foundation application, the Town of Bath’s Wellness Village Initiative for the Rural Health Transformation Program, and an ARC power grant related to student placement efforts. All of these were approved by voice vote.
The commission reappointed Gary Easton and Lance Drake to the Morgan County Planning Commission with terms set to expire June 30, 2029. Members also moved to appoint Andy Humps to fill the remainder of Jason Diddle Wick’s Parks and Recreation term through June 30, 2027. Commissioners reappointed Lynn Goodwin, Ron Davis and Commissioner Bill Clark to the Region 9 Planning and Development Board, noting that term lengths would be confirmed with Region 9 before final signatures.
Commissioners discussed staggered term lengths and confirmed they would coordinate with Region 9 on the correct expiration dates. The motions were presented as part of routine board management and grant‑support activity intended to help local organizations pursue funding.
