Musselwhite said the proposed amended budget is available for inspection at City Hall, 250 Alabama Street, and noted the council will consider a formal vote on the amendment at the council’s July 17, 2025 meeting at 6:00 p.m. The hearing notice cited Georgia law (OCGA 36-81-5) governing public hearings on the budget and provided the two hearing dates (July 10 and July 17).
Earlier in the meeting the council approved the meeting agenda. Councilman Shawn Allen moved to approve the agenda; Councilman Donnie Bennett seconded, and the motion was recorded as unanimously approved (4-0). The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn made by Councilman Jimmy Davis, seconded by Councilman Shawn Allen; the adjournment motion was also recorded as unanimously approved.
The council did not take a formal vote on the budget amendment at the July 10 meeting; the next procedural step is the scheduled vote on July 17, 2025.
