Spring Grove council to explore childcare options with proposed financial feasibility study

Mayor Bryan Wilhelmson told the council the city has been investigating options for a childcare/daycare center and proposed commissioning a financial feasibility study to determine what services, business models and capacities would be feasible for Spring Grove.
Wilhelmson said study results could help the city decide whether to become involved directly or to provide information to a private operator. He said he would ask the Economic Development Authority (EDA) to fund the study and noted the Houston County Core Team had been mentioned as a possible contributor. Clerk/Administrator Jana Elton summarized the options and clarified that the discussion was an update rather than a council decision.
Council members did not vote on funding at the meeting; staff will return with cost estimates and potential funding sources if the council directs moving forward.
