Judi Nigbor elected chair as Marquette County public-safety committee approves agenda, minutes

The Marquette County Judicial & Public Safety Committee elected Judi Nigbor as its chair during a May 5 meeting in the Public Safety Room at the Courthouse/Law Enforcement Center in Montello. The committee approved the meeting agenda and accepted the April 7, 2026 minutes.

Chuck Bornhoeft moved to approve the agenda and Lance Achterberg seconded; the motion carried. Bornhoeft nominated Judi Nigbor for chair. With no other nominations, a unanimous ballot elected Nigbor, who will serve as the committee’s representative to the county Executive & Finance Committee; the Board of Health, which elected Nigbor to chair earlier that morning, must select its own Executive & Finance representative at a later meeting.

A subsequent motion by Lance Achterberg, seconded by Chuck Bornhoeft, approved the April 7 minutes. The committee discussed future meeting times and confirmed the standing date as the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m., subject to change. Chair Nigbor called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. and adjourned it at 3:00 p.m.
