Windsor Locks — At the Jan. 12 meeting of the Windsor Locks Park Commission, commissioners gave brief condition reports on town parks and flagged several maintenance issues.
Commissioner Glenn Flanders reported graffiti on the plastic portion of the playscape at Pesci Park and said Pesci I has a patch in left field due to a sinkhole. Commissioner Norman Weigert reported Reed Park looks good; Commissioner Patrick Roy said Noden Reed Park is OK and had no update on Spring Park; Commissioner Jim Cannon reported no updates for his assigned park areas. At Bel Aire Park commissioners discussed placing a pet waste bag dispenser near the garbage can. Commissioner Amber Hurdle said Juniper Park is OK.
Chairman Bob Norris also explained that the ice rink had been shortened on the sunny side to reduce melting there and that the change has helped the rink stay iced longer. Commissioners did not take formal action on maintenance items during the meeting; follow‑up will occur through department staff.
