Railroad Circle sketch plan praised by DRB; JCDC to brief Selectboard on roadway changes

The Jericho Community Development Committee on June 25, 2026, reviewed a recent sketch plan for the Railroad Circle property and discussed next steps to secure Selectboard approval for partial roadway discontinuation and related permits. Committee member Joe Flynn said the plan was very well received by the Development Review Board (DRB) and by area neighbors.
The committee discussed that changing roadways requires Selectboard action across two meetings. O’Leary Burke will coordinate with the town highway department and will apply for a wastewater permit. Committee members noted Selectboard meeting dates of July 16 (when Joe Flynn is unavailable) and August 20; Erik Johnson suggested the JCDC appear at the earlier July meeting so he and Peter Booth can summarize JCDC views and seek Selectboard approval. O’Leary Burke will submit information in advance to assist the Selectboard's review. Town Planner Chris Shaheen was noted as a contact who should be able to provide a link to the June DRB meeting materials.
Committee discussion also covered a potential boundary adjustment to meet frontage requirements and the choice of a partial hammerhead rather than a full hammerhead design to address roadway geometry. No Selectboard action was taken at this JCDC meeting; the committee agreed to coordinate filings and attend the scheduled Selectboard meetings to seek discontinuation and related approvals.
Next procedural steps include O’Leary Burke preparing and submitting materials and JCDC members attending a Selectboard meeting to present the JCDC’s views. The JCDC adjourned at 7:37 p.m.; the committee will next convene July 23, 2026.
