County backs Central Penn Community College request for behavioral-health paraprofessional training letter of support

Crystal Wolf, introduced as provost at Central Pen[n] Community College, asked the board for a letter of support as part of an application to the Department of Human Services for a 46-hour hybrid intensive behavioral-health training program. The program is described as a mix of online didactic lectures and on-campus hands-on competency checks, taught by BCBA-certified instructors, that would prepare paraprofessionals, family members, and autism-services staff to sit for the Registered Behavior Technician credential.
Wolf said the program will partner with Kareem’s Mission and asked that the county provide a letter of support as part of the application materials. Commissioners moved and approved the letter of support by voice vote.
What happens next: College staff will include the county’s letter as part of their DHS application and proceed with curriculum submission and accreditation steps if the program application is accepted.
