Commissioners approve 5-year TimeClockPlus contract and hazmat equipment capital request

Garner said the Time Clock Plus five-year contract (transcribed amount $36,361.44) is intended to coordinate 911 center staffing and that extending to five years reduced the five-year cost compared with annual renewals. She asked for approval to engage that contract, and commissioners moved and approved the item by voice vote.
On the capital project, Garner explained the hazmat team currently can take about two-and-a-half hours to offload a standard propane tank on scene; the proposed equipment has a larger diameter and would reduce on-scene time to roughly 45 minutes, lowering exposure time for both responders and the community. She also said the county plans to apply to the Energy Transfer responder fund for roughly 75% of the equipment cost and would use the hazmat reserve fund to minimize general-fund impact (she estimated county share would be small, possibly around 6% if the grant is awarded).
Commissioners moved, seconded and approved both items.
What happens next: Staff will finalize the Time Clock Plus contract and submit the hazmat grant application; if the grant is awarded, department procurement and deployment steps will follow.
