The National City council recessed into closed session to consult with legal counsel on three existing lawsuits and to meet with labor negotiators.
City Attorney announced the litigation matters by case name: Polanco v. City of National City; BCD v. City of National City; and Kallie Mota v. City of National City. The attorney also named the employee organizations involved in a separate closed-session labor-negotiation item: the firefighters association, the police officers association and unrepresented employee groups.
The council went into closed session to discuss those items and the city attorney said the council would report out at the end of the special meeting. The record available in the public segments contains no further on-the-record report-out from closed session and no public votes or settlements were recorded in the available transcript. After closed session the council adjourned the special meeting and proceeded into a scheduled budget workshop.
