The Hobart planning authority voted to grant a six-month extension for petition 23-12, a proposed 67-lot subdivision known as Bickley Hollow, after the petitioner described renewed market interest and financing progress.
The petitioner told commissioners the project had seen increased presales and that Baker Tilly and the developer’s team had advanced financial details; the applicant said they plan to purchase the land outright rather than depend on earlier deed arrangements. "We've been fortunate to have a lot of presold... we're very thankful for that," the petitioner said while asking for more time to complete infrastructure arrangements.
Commissioner Marco Rodriguez, representing economic development, recommended a one-year extension because the TIF-driven housing program would require coordination with planning and city council schedules. Several board members said six months would allow the petitioner to report back; a motion to grant a six-month extension was moved, seconded and carried.
The extension is procedural and does not authorize construction; the petitioner will return with updates on financing, infrastructure scheduling and next steps required for final approvals.
