Council approves $15,000 allocation for Fourth of July parade security

The Enumclaw City Council approved Resolution No. 1881 at its June 22 meeting to formalize how $15,000 previously authorized by council will be allocated for Fourth of July parade security.
Parks Director Lina Hicks (speaker 12) told council the resolution would authorize the use of the $15,000 to cover $8,500 for route barriers, $2,500 for overtime for six additional city staff to help staff the parade route, and $4,000 to the Chamber of Commerce to hire security and event staff. "The funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break it up, of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said.
Council moved to approve the resolution, which passed by voice vote. The action formalizes the spending breakdown to support parade safety and overtime staffing ahead of the July 4 celebration.
