Live Oak reapproves revised interlocal gas-option agreement with Suwannee County and Branford

The Live Oak City Council voted to approve a revised local gas-option interlocal agreement among Suwannee County, Branford and the City of Live Oak after the Department of Commerce returned an initial draft for corrections to effective and expiration dates.
A council member explained that Mr. Morrison prepared the initial draft and that the Department of Commerce rejected certain date fields — for example, the auditor or speaker said the draft had an expiration of June 30, 2055 when the Department of Commerce required December 31, 2054, and that an effective date was adjusted to September 1. "He did what he had to do to make them happy so that we continue to get our money," the speaker said.
The speaker added the county remains on board and that the draft revision is intended to preserve funding flow. The council noted the need to research and correct past allocations, saying Bradford currently appears to be receiving an outsized share and that the research will be done in the coming year to fix it.
A council member moved to approve Suwannee County agreement 2025-79-02; another council member seconded and the motion passed by voice vote in favor.
