Oktibbeha County clears consent agenda, approves $4.9M claims docket and major progress payments

On June 1 the Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the consent agenda covering several administrative, contract and payment items.
On a motion by Supervisor Ben Carver, seconded by Supervisor Pattie Little, the Board approved the monthly claims docket totaling $4,926,442.93 across county funds and authorized progress and professional capital payments totaling $1,407,882.73. The larger items included Falcon Contracting Co., Inc. Pay App No. 2 for $1,354,858.27 drawn from Fund 370 for New Light Road hot-mix paving; Butler Snow LLP invoices of $18,753.00 from Fund 126; and Pritchard Engineering, LLC invoices of $34,271.46 from Fund 370.
The consent agenda also ratified an Omnicell contract assignment transferring operational responsibilities and liabilities for five Omnicell equipment/software supplements from OCH Regional Medical Center to Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation at no county cost. The Board approved E911 private-road namings to add Weeks Drive (District 4) and Cold Train Lane (District 5) to enhance emergency dispatch addressing. The Board declared obsolete Road Department machinery and authorized standard surplus disposal procedures.
Separately, the Board awarded a time-sensitive contract to 4D Construction for $8,100 to install a 6-inch training-facility hydrant and tanker fill point adjacent to the Central Fire Station, following Fire Coordinator Patrick Warner's request to tie into an active Longview Water Association line (motion by Supervisor Pattie Little, seconded by Supervisor Joe Williams). The Board also adopted a resolution requesting a 1.6-mile Sand Creek Canal cleanup under the Tombigbee River Valley Water Management District cooperative framework and approved the repurposing amendment to allow Maven Volunteer Fire Department to spend approximately $20,000 of an originally $50,000 roof grant for broader structural renovations.
