The Lucy Robbins Wells Library’s Library Additions and Renovations Committee (LARK) will present its conceptual design and cost/phase options to the town council on Tuesday, April 28, the board heard April 13.
Christopher Riley, who chairs or represents facilities and communications work for the board, told trustees the architects will attend and the planned slides will show maintenance history, transition planning, cost estimates and comparables requested by town council. "It's going to be on Tuesday, April 28th," Riley said during the meeting.
The board discussed the "one-voice" guidance for public testimony and how members might show support. Board leadership advised that, while individual trustees may speak during the town’s public-participation segment, the board typically designates a single spokesperson for an official statement. Trustees were encouraged to attend in person or watch online to demonstrate community support.
Riley said the committee has updated presentation slides after recent joint meetings with architects and will circulate the agenda position once the town publishes its meeting notice. The presentation could be brief but may be followed by an extended question-and-answer period from councilors.
Next steps: LARK will confirm the final slide deck and timing with the town manager and distribute the agenda link to the board once the council posts the meeting materials.
