Sharon Conservation Commission highlights volunteer events: vernal-pool program, Earth Day cleanup and May bird outreach

The second program in the vernal-pool series is scheduled for April 18, and an Earth Day cleanup is set for April 25. The minutes state the Commission will staff a table with SEEC at a migratory-bird event at Sharon Audubon on Saturday, May 9, from noon to 3 p.m. The Commission described these items as outreach to residents and opportunities for volunteer engagement.
Chair Bethany Sheffer reported progress on updating the town's Natural Resources Inventory in collaboration with Lynn Kearcher and said the Commission is recruiting trail volunteers and planning coordinated training with the Sharon Land Trust.
Member Carl Chaiet reported on a recent site visit to Hosier Road with Lynn Kearcher, calling the area "just amazing, with incredible views," and noted they identified a Cherry Bark Oak tree during the walk.
The Commission did not take formal votes on these outreach items; they were recorded as announcements and ongoing work. The next Commission meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on May 20 at Sharon Town Hall.
