River Ridge hears lake maintenance update; sound issue at Masters Lake under review

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported to the board on July 23 that the lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are generally in good condition but that seasonal algae has appeared and a palm tree along the shoreline of Lake E7A was removed. He said a cabinet installed around the compressor reduced the Masters Lake sound level from about 64 to about 52 decibels.
Operations Manager Shane Willis said the remaining concern is the tone of the aerator rather than decibel level and recommended exploring relocation of the compressor; the Board asked Mr. Willis to coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth and to report findings at the next meeting. Mr. Kurth said plantings in Lake E4-A will be delayed until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Condominium Association and staff will resubmit the planting proposal when appropriate.
Mr. Willis also presented the annual quality assurance audit for lake maintenance and dry retention, reporting higher seasonal water levels, no compliance issues, and improved conditions since Premier Lakes began maintenance. Separately, District Manager Chuck Adams presented MRI Construction estimate #C060-24 for a Type 9 inlet top, priced at $10,692.88, to reduce debris blockage; staff is seeking an additional proposal and the item will remain on the agenda.
