Board's curative amendment freezes data-center applications pending zoning rewrite

At the April 28 meeting, Township Planner Patrick Gorman reported that the Board of Supervisors enacted a resolution initiating a Municipal Curative Amendment after finding part of the Township Zoning Ordinance invalid because it lacks data center regulations. The resolution effectively freezes any applications related to data centers from proceeding under the current ordinance while the Township revises the zoning text.
Gorman noted the Municipalities Planning Code gives the Township 180 days to correct the invalidity. The Planning Commission is scheduled to continue review of the draft ordinance amendment at its May 5 meeting. No specific applications or parcels were identified during the Planning Commission meeting and no formal action by the Planning Commission was taken at this session.
