Byron council reviews zoning and parking appendices, schedules April 8 final reading

The City of Byron Mayor and Council met in a work session April 4 to review proposed updates to Appendix A (Land Development, Zoning Ordinances and Subdivision Regulations) and Appendix Z (Parking).
Mayor Michael Chidester and Council Members James Richardson, Rusty Adams, Chris Hodges and Alan Dorsey were present; Council Member Michael Chumbley was absent. City Administrator Tiffany Sandefur, Assistant to the City Administrator Melanie Bickford and City Attorney Brian Causey also attended. Breakfast was served and the session began at 8:00 a.m.
During the session the council examined Part IV of the zoning regulations and related parking provisions to identify minor edits and clarifications. After reviewing the material, the council tasked City Attorney Brian Causey with drafting the minor updates discussed during the session so the changes could be reviewed by staff and boards.
Planning & Zoning is scheduled to review the proposed changes on April 4, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. The council scheduled a second and final reading of the updated sections for April 8, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The work session adjourned at 10:52 a.m.; no additional meetings were scheduled.
