Parkland SD honors boys volleyball team after state runner-up season

Dr. Matson opened the July 16 meeting and turned the floor over to Nathan Davidson, the high school principal, who introduced the Parkland boys volleyball team and summarized the season: repeat East Penn and district champions and state runner-up in PIAA Class 3A with a reported record of 21–4.
Davidson praised the players’ conduct and academics, noting that many seniors have been accepted to a variety of colleges and that the team “handled the pressure to win the right way.” He called up players individually for recognition and photographs.
Coach Scott Trumbauer thanked the board, administrators, parents and students and echoed the principal’s emphasis on academics. He said the team was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Academic team, cited very high individual and team GPAs, and described the season’s travel and competitive schedule that included matches in Delaware Valley, Lancaster and Bucks County. “It’s been a pleasure. It’s been an honor,” Trumbauer said of coaching the seniors.
The board and the audience joined in congratulating the athletes and coaches. Administrators invited family and community members who stayed for the meeting to remain for photos, and the board moved on to its regular agenda.
