Residents press council for action after late‑night games and band practices near John Carroll stadium

‘‘Last Friday night there was a brawl outside the stadium which involved the Cleveland Heights, University Heights and Beachwood police,’’ Fleischer said, adding that many neighbors reported their children could not sleep and that there was no university representative to address the concerns.
Other residents reinforced safety and parking concerns. Mike Kernzig said traffic, parking and loud music have steadily worsened and asked the city to protect residents’ rights to peace and quiet. A neighbor identified only as Louis said high school marching bands using the stadium have created a different atmosphere and that families and young children are affected. Deborah Zilber described loud early‑morning practices that sometimes start as early as 6 a.m. and said parked cars near a corner on Washington and Claver create visibility and collision risks.
Council members did not take immediate formal action on the complaints during the meeting; residents said they are submitting their petition for the record.
