North High Shoals swears in new council members, elects leadership and approves town appointments

At the Jan. 29 meeting Mayor Stephen Goad swore in re-elected Council member Eric Wright and newly elected Council members Steve Hall and Pat Sibley.
Following the swearing-in, the council conducted leadership elections. Council member Fred Johnson moved to elect Council member Eric Wright as Mayor Pro Tempore; the motion passed 4–0. Council member Eric Wright then moved to elect Council member Eric Carlson as Presiding Officer; that motion also passed 4–0.
The council also voted 5–0 to appoint several municipal officers and contractors for 2026. Council member Fred Johnson moved to appoint Frances Arnold as Town Accountant, Joe Reitman as Town Attorney, Bureau Veritas for Building Inspections, Tom Eades as Town Historian, and Sue Bishop as Town Clerk and Treasurer; Council member Pat Sibley seconded the motion.
