Trustees addressed a range of roads, drainage and neighborhood service issues across 2007, from approving resurfacing projects to working with the Franklin County Engineer’s Office on drainage and warranty work.
Res. 07-21 authorized the 2007 resurfacing and crack-seal program with preliminary estimates ($48,944 resurfacing; $61,807 crack seal) and trustees later approved the Thoburn Road surface-treatment project and Spur Lane surface treatment (Res. 07-28 and Res. 07-34). The board repeatedly pressed the Franklin County Engineer’s Office to complete warranty work on Hansen Court driveways and to provide estimates for the Schirtzinger Road retaining wall and Timberbrook radius curbing.
Residents raised recurring drainage complaints—most notably on Hansen Drive and Meadow Wood Lane—and trustees and staff coordinated repairs or replacement of sump lines and driveways with county engineers. In several meetings trustees recorded a timeline for county completion and ordered follow‑up inspections.
Public concerns about speeding in Timberbrook and Smiley Road led trustees and Hilliard Police Department to deploy a speed check trailer, gather counts and 85th‑percentile speeds, and discuss portable solar speed signs; HPD provided data showing the majority of vehicles were at or below posted limits in some checks but that isolated high speeds existed. Trustees also agreed to participate in the Franklin County Board of Health IPM mosquito-control program for 2008 at an approximate township cost of $694 (Res. 07-67).
