Board approves $54.4 million guaranteed maximum price for Ladies Island Middle School replacement and reclassifies $1.6M for secured entry renovations

After convening an executive session for personnel, contract negotiations and attorney–client matters, the Beaufort County Board of Trustees approved two procurement actions out of executive session.
Secretary (speaker 1) moved, and the board approved, Amendment No. 2 with Thompson Turner Construction setting a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $54,414,709 for the Ladies Island Middle School replacement project. The board then approved reclassifying $1,600,000 in secured-entry renovation funds for a DESC project from FY2026 capital improvement funds to the 2019 bond referendum.
Both motions were seconded and announced as passing unanimously.
