Corwin council approves $1,700 monthly salary for clerk-treasurer starting Jan. 1

Clerk-Treasurer Debra R. Femmer told the council she averages roughly 80–85 hours per month on village business and is on call for residents; she asked that her salary be increased to $1,700 per month effective Jan. 1, 2026. Femmer said that at her current hours and pay her effective hourly take-home equates to roughly $16 per hour and that $1,700 per month would equal about $20 per hour.
Councilman Baldwin moved and Councilman Schreier seconded a motion to set the Clerk-Treasurer salary at $1,700 per month beginning Jan. 1, 2026. A roll-call vote recorded Councilmen Baldwin, Patrick, Cummins, Schreier and Hunley as voting Aye and the motion passed 5–0.
Femmer continues to prepare the 2026 appropriations and will implement the payroll change in the next fiscal cycle.
