On contractor accountability, the committee received an update that DPW is preparing a permit‑manual update and a proposed ordinance change to increase utility-warranty periods to five years; the committee filed a multi-council request for a formal city-manager report on processes to hold contractors to schedules and quality standards.
Several smaller resurfacing petitions (Olm Court, Trinity Avenue segment, Vinton, Gilman, Norton and Commodore Road) were added to resurfacing candidate lists or deferred to responsible parties (some restoration will be done by utility companies). A requested guardrail petition at 43 Parker Street was filed after DPW found only one icy crash in five years.
Next steps: DPW will provide firm project estimates and scheduling information for inclusion in the July agenda or future capital planning; the Berno Street sidewalk installation will be corrected by the contractor and held pending verification of repairs.
