ZBA approves smaller freestanding sign at 318 Park Avenue after applicant reduces size

The board discussed the revised plans and the three staff‑recommended conditions (authorization for any projection into the public way, replacement of damaged public infrastructure at the applicant’s cost if construction damages it, and compliance with final revised plans and applicable codes). Board members praised the applicant’s responsiveness and voted to close the hearing and approve the variances and special permits with the staff conditions and requested waivers. Votes were recorded as unanimous among voting members.
What happens next: Applicant must demonstrate authorization for any work in the public way and show final plans to the city; inspectional services will enforce compliance with the approved conditions.
